New member joins Rumenco’s technical team

Technical dairy nutrition knowledge and practical experience are key strengths for Rumenco’s new technical adviser, Helen Rogers.

With a degree in bio-veterinary science from Liverpool Veterinary School, combined with the skills learnt from her previous role with a compound feed company, Mrs Rogers is a key new addition to Rumenco’s team.

“I really enjoyed being out on-farm with my last job. But I wanted the challenge of a purely technical role which this job is going to offer,” she says.

The new role will involve providing additional technical support for Rumenco’s team of area business managers (ABM’s) and in-house staff, as well as providing on-farm nutritional advice, particularly in relation to diet plans and ration formulations.

“To start with I will be at various agricultural trade shows up and down the country, alongside the ABM’s, speaking to farmers and providing face-to-face technical advice.

“As the role progresses, I’ll also be heavily involved with new product development, which is where my previous experience will come into play.

“I’m looking forward to the variety of the job role, and being able to share my knowledge and experience with the internal team and the wider industry.”

Mrs Rogers is also in the final stages of completing a part time diploma in ruminant nutrition at Harper Adams University.

“My thesis focuses on the effects of feeding protected fats to dairy cows and how this effects milk yield and fertility.

“This research will help no end with my new role at Rumenco, and highlight new opportunities for the business,” says Mrs Rogers.
